2022 a new year and a fresh start on project 27 following almost 2 years of lockdowns, restrictions & towards the tail end of 2021 the team getting back upto speed with where we left off. Work has mainly concentrated on progressing on with the overhaul of some of the various components currently taking up space in the villas so that we can either hang them back on the frames or put them into storage…

Having got back into the swing of things whilst still restricted with access to the main workshop, in part due to Covid restrictions as well as trying to safe guard the business & paid staff against Covid related downtime, the main push was to crack on in the fresh air…

Having successfully completed the final riveting up of the rear drag box in the latter part of 2019, a daunting task with over 80 riveted joints, work has concentrated on moving forwards riveting up the various running plate support angles located along the frame…
It has been a busy winter working on 27 with the rear drag box & buffer beam complete and riveted in place for the close of the year. The cylinder block has also been split ready for final machining & the second wheel set has also entered the works over winter…
323 Bluebell is planned to go into the workshop at Sheffield Park in early 2024 giving us an exciting prospect of seeing our flagship locomotive once again in steam…
